Completing the cast are renowned actors and actresses Ana Capri, Pen Medina, Sharmaine Centenera, Luz Valdez, Vangie Labalan, Mariel Pamintuan, Nicky Castro, Angelo Ilagan, and Ms. Celia Rodriguez. Set in the rustic town of San Sebastian, the story revolves around the struggle of Eloisa Aguirre (Heart Evangelista) in providing her family a good living. While making herself busy in their family's small piggery, Eloisa meets Lucio Aragon (Sid Lucero), the disinherited achiever working as a professor in Manila. Their interest in agriculture will make them closer and eventually develop feelings for each other. But while Eloisa basks in the happiness of her love life, fate will not be so kind to her father Andoy (Pen Medina) as he needs to undergo a foot operation due to complications of diabetes. Wanting to send her father to a decent hospital, Eloisa seeks help from the town's richest woman Doña Hilaria Buenaventura.
Seeing Eloisa as equally bold and hardworking as she is, Doña Hilaria readily offers Eloisa a job in the factory to help in her father's operation. Left with no choice, Eloisa accepts the job and proves her loyalty to the company. Behind this kindness is Doña Hilaria's intention to convince Eloisa to manage her business and marry her fourth son, Bobby (Dominic Roco), who has autism. It is only Eloisa whom she sees to have the capacity to run a family business. Not her three daughters-in-law - Lualhati, Gigi, and Margot. Married to Doña Hilaria's eldest son is Lualhati (Ana Capri). Despite living with Doña Hilaria, Lualhati still plays like a domestic housemaid believing that this will please Doña Hilaria. Second in the covert undergraduate Gigi (Alessandra de Rossi) who is married to the second son, Joshua. Behind her pleasant personality is her desire to leave Doña Hilaria and continue her secret affair. Lastly is the lavish and deceitful Margot (Katrina Halili). Being the Management graduate in the household, she gets to handle the Buenaventura's export and organic farming business. She may be projecting a perfect impression, but her lavishness can't escape from Doña Hilaria's keen eyes. Believing that money can't buy her love, Eloisa refuses Doña Hilaria's wish. But Doña Hilaria won't stop until she gets what she wants; she orders Eloisa to move out from their land and pay their debts. Pressured by Doña Hilaria's demands, Eloisa decides to go to Manila and ask for help from Lucio. To her dismay, Eloisa sees Lusio kissing another woman, Richelle Mangahas (Isabel Oli). Will this incident change Eloisa's mind to accept Doña Hilaria's offer? How will she react when she finds out that Lucio and Bobby are half-brothers? How much can Eloisa sacrifice for her family? Award-winning film director Maryo J. Delos Reyes brings to life traditional, family drama that Filipinos love to watch. “It has the main protagonist and antagonist. The plot is not overly convoluted. It is glossy, soap and a comics drama that is being translated into television,” Direk Maryo said during the press conference. Dominic Roco admits getting the most challenging role of his career in this newest afternoon soap. While Heart, Alessandra and Sid are happy being reunited again after “Legacy.” Meanwhile, Katrina is back in her sexy self after giving birth and admits to being challenged by the senior actors. Magkano Ba Ang Pag-ibig? fires up your afternoon starting September 30 on GMA Afternoon Prime.
