Official movie poster of Mono No Aware Singer-songwriter/actor Juan Karlos "JK" Labajo recently clinched his first Best Actor award through his movie entry at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, playing the "gentle giant" Ichi, a Filipino migrant worker in Japan employed by a specialty cleaning company. Ichi is a loving, dedicated family man and a true friend to his new-found kababayan played by Perry Dizon. Mono No Aware , directed by BC Amparado and co-produced by JK himself and Tomomi Furuyama, with Ferdinand Lapuz, the film explores themes of grief, mortality, and the Japanese concept of mono no aware (an awareness of the impermanence of things).
