| Israeli Amb. Dana Kursh shared her message of Awareness, Bravery, and Compassion in the battle against breast cancer. Below, some of the collected hair from donors at RMC |
For cancer patients and survivors, the physical toll of treatment often extends far beyond the invisible battles fought within; hair loss stands as a daily, visible reminder of their diagnosis. Shedding one’s hair can profoundly impact a patient’s self-esteem and sense of identity, making the journey toward recovery even more daunting.
Recognizing the vital role that confidence plays in healing, the Embassy of Israel in the Philippines recently teamed up with the Rizal Medical Center (RMC) and the Makati Medical Center Foundation (MMCF) for the heartfelt #ISHAir Your Hair donation drive. Supported by partners like Emphasis Salon, the initiative brought together a community of compassionate individuals—from a remarkable seven-year-old donor to Israeli Ambassador Dana Kursh, who herself parted with her locks in solidarity.

Emphasizing the ABCs of fighting breast cancer—Awareness, Bravery, and Compassion—Ambassador Kursh highlighted that early detection matters, courage deserves unwavering support, and compassion is deeply woven into the Filipino spirit. Every strand donated goes far beyond mere fibers; it weaves together hope, dignity, and a tangible reminder that patients are never alone in their fight.

This powerful campaign finds a permanent home at the ISHA Women’s Health Center at Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City. Formally established on June 17, 2025, by Israeli and Philippine health officials (growing from a 2022 outreach campaign involving MASHAV and the DOH), the center is named after ISHA (אִשָּׁה), the Hebrew word for "woman."
