"I am an advocate of taking ample care of your skin. When you look good, you feel good. In my clinic, we don't just sell products and treatments, we educate clients about their skin and overall health. Every skin is different. My goal for every client is to achieve their best version of themselves with a customized treatment plan and regimen and to continue maintenance and prevention,” Abby Odiamar-Paclibar said during the media con at SEDA Hotel BGC, welcoming her skincare products to the Philippines.
The founder and owner of Abby Skincare products and Abby Skin Clinic and FFMS Medspa Inc., with 17 years existence in the US, officially launched her products in the country through business partner/endorser, Ritchie Ocampo, Mutya ng Pilipinas–Asia Pacific 1999, to further the foothold of Abby Skincare products in the Philippines.
Joining them were both Abby’s and Ritchie’s long-time friends and classmates in college mostly who ventured as health practitioners or in the pharmaceutical industry. Many of them have already embraced Abby’s skin care philosophy of wellness and prevention.
Abby said she herself experienced having lost confidence being literally dried up and looking haggard for working hard in the US - - the weather is extreme, there is no household help around, among other factors - - and she decided to take a second chance for herself.

A Physical Therapy graduate, she first pursued an International Flight attendant career to fulfill her wish to travel around the world by herself, and moved to the US after six years. There, she started another career as a nurse (Wound Care Specialist) for almost five years at over 40 skilled nursing facilities and wound clinics all over Northern California. “I helped patients with wound healing, wound care, and also provided wound care education. It was such a fulfilling experience to witness different spectrums of the medical field and be able to help,” she said.
With more knowledge and training under her belt combined with her relentless spirit, Abby diversified her potential in becoming a skincare specialist. She pursued further studies in skin esthetics at the W Institute of Esthetics. She also traveled to Asia and Europe to acquire further knowledge with skin enhancements and skincare. Her academic background also includes a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from CalSouthern University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Harvard Certification in Health and Wellness. She is now 2 years short of becoming a full-fledged medical doctor.
While others may perceive that self-care and skincare equate to vanity, Abby deems that this is equivalent to practicing healthy life choices. Afterall, the skin is the largest organ in the body and without proper care, it loses its vitality, glow, firmness, and can trigger other skin conditions, such as hyperpigmentation, aging, acne, dermatitis, and many more.
Setting up a small clinic in a rented space in 2008, Abby started selling her own formulated products - - with ingredients she sources from the US, Japan, and South Korea - - and offer skincare treatments with the full support of her fellow US-registered nurse husband, Dominique.
Today, Abby Skin Care proudly serves clients at three key branches: Union City, CA, Concord, CA, and Las Vegas, NV. In the pipeline is the first clinic in Asia, which she is opening in India next year.
Having gained recognition for the amazing products and services she has provided for her clients, she eventually anchored her own segment, Skinability in the TV show, Adobo Nation featured by The Filipino Channel (TFC) viewed internationally.
With the role to inform and educate viewers about proper care of their skin, the program eventually extended her company’s reach to help others with their health concerns.
Science-based skincare with personalized aesthetic care
Abby’s flagship product lineup, an affordable luxury starting off at P1200+ per set includes, the Glass & Glow Kit featuring a four-step skincare regimen of brightening soap, toner, day cream, and night cream; Go & Glow Sun Protect SPF 50 for sun protection and defense against harmful UV rays; Fresh & Bright Cleanser that removes impurities; Eye & Neck Cream to reduce visible signs of aging around delicate skin areas; Beauty Serum that promotes hydration and skin renewal; and Gluta MD Spray with NAD formulated to complement overall skin vitality.
But the best regimen, according to Abby, is to keep your skin clean at all times. “Be sure not to go to bed without cleaning and washing up,” she said. She also mentioned that women could age gracefully with sunscreen which blocks harmful visible (blue) light and manages hyperpigmentation and melasma.
“Sunscreen is a must-have especially in a tropical country like ours,” she said.
Abby’s constant focus on how to improve and provide better, effective, and safe treatments for her clients sets her clinic apart from others. “As you know in the US, you cannot do business and your business wouldn't last that long - - mine is 17 years - - if you’re not good and your products and services are inferior. You need to be an expert in your field. Cliché’ as it may sound, but it is imperative to know the science and every ingredient and detail you provide for your clients,” she emphasized
