From governance to storytelling, from local leadership to national visibility, Marcos Mamay ends 2025 with strong momentum—stepping into the new year with renewed purpose, expanded platforms, and a deeper commitment to serve.
As 2025 comes to a close, Marcos Mamay has successfully traversed two worlds: public service and filmmaking. Both have recognized his work, strengthened his voice, and enabled him to reach more communities and audiences than ever before.
On November 26, the Nunungan Vice Mayor was elected Vice President for Operations of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP) during its 29th National Convention at the Manila Hotel.
Before his election to the VMLP, Mamay served three transformative terms as mayor of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte. His administration delivered major infrastructure developments, advanced peace-building efforts, and elevated Nunungan from a third-class to a first-class municipality—achievements that continue to define his leadership..
As movie producer, Mamay made significant strides. His inspiring journey is captured in MAMAY: A Journey to Greatness, directed by Neal “Buboy” Tan. The film, chronicling his rise from hardship to leadership, won major awards in the 73rd FAMAS Awards — Best Supporting Actor for Jeric Raval, Best Production Design, Best Musical Score, Best Original Song, and Best Cinematography—along with two special recognitions: Film Producer of the Year for Mamay Productions and a Presidential Award for Mamay himself. The movie is also endorsed by the Department of Education and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos for school screenings.

The biopic's theme song “Hamon”—composed by Vehnee Saturno, produced by Mamay, and performed by Gerald Santos—also bagged the Indie Movie Theme Song of the Year award at the 41st PMPC Star Awards for Movies held on November 30.
Earlier, Mamay was honored as Outstanding Producer and Media Advocate of the Year at the 37th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
Another personal milestone for Mamay this year is the launch of his inspirational book entitled Pugilist—a word that means “fighter.” The book reflects Mamay’s life philosophy as a fighter in every sense: a man who continues to stand strong through adversity, challenges, and the demands of both public service and creative work.
Mamay is also a cultural advocate. As Adviser to the Actors Guild of the Philippines, he champions more opportunities for Mindanao-based artists, believing that culture and cinema are powerful tools for education, peace, and unity.
Aside from filmmaking, Mamay also produces concerts and coffee table books. His upcoming ventures under Mamay Productions include films such as OFW, One Life to Live, and Babae sa Salamin, with the Mangyan-themed film starring Ejay Falcon.
“With Mamay Productions, our goal is simple yet powerful: to provide opportunities for artists, uplift the local film industry, and share meaningful Filipino stories that educate, entertain, and inspire audiences both here and abroad, ” Mamay stressed.

A joint celebration for these milestones was held held at the Music Box, attended by a distinguished mix of guests from both industries: celebrities and directors, the cast of MAMAY: A Journey to Greatness, the staff and crew of Mamay Productions, Entertainment PRESS, politicians, close friends, and family.
“2025 has been an overwhelming blessing. Mamay was created from the heart of my journey, and seeing it receive recognition—while stepping into a new national role—is something I will always be grateful for. These honors remind me that whether in governance or in film, the purpose remains the same: to inspire, to uplift, and to make a difference,” Mamay shared.
