Kylie Verzosa launches her very own shapewear brand, SOLÁ!

SOLÁ, which means “a woman standing on her own,” offers seamless shapewear manufactured with advanced knitting techniques and bonding technology that ensures a smooth, body-hugging, yet comfortable fit on every woman.

Miss International 2016 and movie actress Kylie Versoza has always loved wearing shapewear underneath all her fashionable outfits and film costumes, so it was natural for her to envision making such clothing must-haves much more affordable and accessible to fellow Filipinas.

“I’ve been in showbiz for eight years and, because of this, this has opened doors for me to experience multiple things. One of the things I realized is how brands are so aspirational yet unattainable due to their price. With SOLÁ, we want to turn your aspirational wants for high-quality items into attainable realities. We want you to have your dream products in your hands and on your body. SOLÁ is a brand for everyone and anyone who wants to own who they are and feel empowered,” Kylie shared with a select group of media representatives during an intimate dinner/launch event at 205 BGC last January 18.

As company founder and creative director, Kylie also revealed just how long she’s been working on SOLÁ and how hands-on she’s been throughout the entire development process with her small women-led team. Now, she can confidently say that everything in the first collection is something she can be proud of.

SOLÁ’s first line is called the Mercury Collection and it’s an inclusive shapewear line designed to prioritize compression without sacrificing stretchability, making it perfect for everyday use. The size range is from XS – XXL with three colors to choose from—black, camel, and mauve—in six different styles: the Sculpting Classic Bodysuit, Sculpting Strapless Bodysuit, Sculpting Mid-Thigh Bodysuit, Sculpting High-waisted Briefs, and Sculpting High-waisted Shorts. The prices of the initial line range from PHP1,100 to 1,600.

SOLA is for all women of all shapes and sizes

SOLÁ’s team also said that their sizes are “jump sizes,” meaning one can size up or size down depending on how tight or relaxed she wants the fit of the bodysuits to be. The team also conveniently have a size guide that one can check via the SOLÁ website.

As for her acting career, Kylie said “I don’t think I am slowing down anytime soon! I love acting and I’ve been in showbiz for the past 8 years. I even have a film coming out around by February-March titled Elevator with Paolo Avelino. If anything, I feel that being an entrepreneur pushes me to do better in showbiz and vice versa.”

The new shapewear brand is also available on Tiktok shop, Shopee, and Lazada.

Building a robust national ICT infrastructure

The opportunities from digital innovations were accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic as limitations on mobility prompted citizens to accelerate migration to digital spaces. In the Philippines, these changes are evident in the growth of digital payment systems, online meeting platforms, electronic health services, online retail, direct delivery services, and many others. However, with increasing connectivity comes increasing cyber threats. That’s why efficient solutions and infrastructure are essential in combating cyber threats and ensuring business survival. Individually, Filipinos are susceptible to data breaches and privacy violations online. On a societal level, cyberattacks by state or non-state actors on critical infrastructure can undermine national security and impact economic activity. While cyber threats originate online, their consequences can manifest beyond the digital space into our physical lives. These kinds of attacks also have direct economic costs. In fact, f
