Bold and fearless generation

Today’s young generation is bold and fearless – treading fields that was unheard of before. Women, in general, have even started conquering worlds that were dominated by men before!

Have we lost our Maria Claras? Not really… It is just that women are responding to changing times and needs. And with the various opportunities and freedom given them nowadays, it would be a waste of time, God-given talents and favorable circumstances if they do not pay attention.

The Whisper Fearless Fair held over the weekend featured confidence, freedom and fearlessness and everything that women can do.

The 2014 South East Asian Cheerleading Open All-girls Division Champion, DLSU Animo Squad, demonstrated exhilarating freedom that comes with unencumbered movement.

While Pole Cats Manila  made their fearless and mesmerizing number as they flex, stretch and climb the pole with full confidence and grace.

Beauteous racecar driver Michelle Bumgarner was also in the house and shared how she reached the top of a field dominated by men through confidence and determination.

But what could probably hold back women in facing such gargantuan challenges?

It’s their monthly menstrual period! During heavy days, women are always cautious and conscious that they may have  back leaks especially when they are out  and active.

On heavy days, menstrual flow can’t be controlled , thus women end up having back leaks which puts them to their lowest confidence level ever. Back leaks also limit their activities  and inhibit them to enjoy even the most enjoyable, everyday tasks.

Good thing, here comes the rescue to women’s dilemma: Whisper Cottony Long

The brand’s survey reveals that six out of 10 young women in the Philippines are experiencing back leaks. This is the highest incidence in Asia.

Jan Jizelle, Whisper’s Brand Manager said, “Whisper believes any young women can achieve whatever she sets her mind to do. Our pads take away a specific worry that could significantly hold her back from pursuing her goals – back leaks. Whisper Cottony Long frees her to confidently pursue her passion.”

Whisper Cottony Long promises to be women’s best friend in her journey to be her fun and fearless self. Brand manufacturer said it gives up to 100% no back leaks encouraging all the young women to stand up with confidence and take control of their lives.

As a mom, let me share my thoughts to guide today's bold and fearless generation:

Write a mission statement. Have visions and make plans. It’s important to have a road map that keeps you from veering off in directions that don’t support who you really are or want to be. Plan ahead, set goals for yourself and work toward them. But stay open to possibilities and embracing change. Work toward your goal, but watch for signs to recalibrate.

Think big and challenge yourself.  Make the biggest plans, the boldest actions, the most challenging decisions.  You don’t know unless you try. Find areas in your life where you feel fear. Look those fears in the eye, and challenge yourself to conquer it.

Seek support and create partnerships.  If there is something you really want, but fear is holding you back, don’t do it alone.  Instead, find people who share your vision and world view. Find someone or support group you trust to work with you on your bold adventures. You may even broaden your circle of partners so you have a tribe of people working together for mutual benefit. That is working together to create a net of influence, inspiration and action.

Finally, let Godly wisdom guide you at all times. With God in your life, you shall never go wrong. Here are some Bible verses to help you through the challenges in your life:

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Building a robust national ICT infrastructure

The opportunities from digital innovations were accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic as limitations on mobility prompted citizens to accelerate migration to digital spaces. In the Philippines, these changes are evident in the growth of digital payment systems, online meeting platforms, electronic health services, online retail, direct delivery services, and many others. However, with increasing connectivity comes increasing cyber threats. That’s why efficient solutions and infrastructure are essential in combating cyber threats and ensuring business survival. Individually, Filipinos are susceptible to data breaches and privacy violations online. On a societal level, cyberattacks by state or non-state actors on critical infrastructure can undermine national security and impact economic activity. While cyber threats originate online, their consequences can manifest beyond the digital space into our physical lives. These kinds of attacks also have direct economic costs. In fact, f
