Mama Sita Foundation supports Project Saysay’s 10th anniversary

Project Saysay Inc. celebrated its 10th founding anniversary at the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NCHP) Presidential Car Museum at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City on June 11, 2023. Held in solidarity with the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood 2023-2026, the commemorative event also recognized the partners and benefactors of Project Saysay in the past 10 years which include the Mama Sita Foundation. With this, the Foundation received humble recognition for being a consistent partner of Project Saysay. Likewise, Mama Sita Foundation was the event’s main sponsor by sponsoring cocktails and tokens for the honorees, select individuals, and institutions for the recognition. Thus, spreading Filipino heritage and flavors during the 10th Anniversary of Project Saysay at Pasasalamat is a showcase of Mama Sita's artisanal products offering a taste of tradition and culinary excellence. Also set up at the venue was the all-natural Mama Sita's vinegar in line with the advocacy of the Mama Sita Foundation in helping our coconut farmers. Project Saysay names new 10 honorees Highlighting the 10th Anniversary at Pasasalamat was the unveiling of the 10 new Project Saysay portraits and their prototype poster designs featuring the following honorees: Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos, World War II martyr from the City of San Fernando, Pampanga; Jaime de Veyra, champion of Philippine studies and languages from Tanauan, Leyte; National Scientist Fe del Mundo, champion of public health and children's rights from Manila; Jose Petronio Katigbak, nationalist from Lipa, Batangas; and Tarhata Kiram, champion of Mindanao identity from Jolo, Sulu. Project Saysay, Inc. is a non-government youth organization with its vision set to actively champion the popularization and visualization of Philippine history. Its mission is to propagate relevant, useful, and inspiring information -- in print and online -- sourced from Philippine history. Since its registration in 2013, the organization has successfully distributed quality posters to Philippine schools for free locally and abroad. It has also generated sensible and accurate online materials that are shareable and attuned to the needs of time and has created platforms to express creativity and academic exchanges related to history and culture. Spearheading the momentous event were Congressman Christopher Vera Perez de Venecia and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte. The two public servants were unanimously chosen as guest speakers on the merit of their championing creativity in the Legislative and Executive branches of the government, respectively. Also gracing the program were National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, former DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, DepEd Usec. Analyn Sevilla, National Youth Commission Executive Director Lea Villalon, Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Deputy Administrator Asec. Restituto Aguilar, Mama Sita Foundation President Clara Reyes-Lapus, and the descendants of the heroes featured in the posters. To cap the program, composer Kent Charcos sang "Samot-Saring Iisa", the official theme song of the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence. May saysay ang kasaysayan.
